FIFA World Cup 2026 Ticket Sales Soar Past 2 Million Milestone

Ticket sales for the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, have officially surpassed the impressive milestone of two million. This significant achievement was announced by the International Football Federation (FIFA) as of November 27, marking a strong demand for the tournament.

The two million tickets were successfully purchased by eager fans hailing from 212 countries across the globe. These sales were accumulated during the initial two phases, which commenced in August. Unsurprisingly, citizens from the three co-host nations – the United States, Canada, and Mexico – have accounted for the largest volume of ticket purchases. Following closely behind the host countries, fans from England, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Argentina, and France represent the next largest groups of buyers.

Looking ahead, FIFA has outlined the schedule for the next crucial phases of ticket distribution. The third phase of ticket sales is slated to open on December 11. This launch will follow the official group stage draw, which is scheduled to take place on December 5 in Washington. Furthermore, a specific allocation process designed to ensure that tickets are distributed to eligible fans who are able to travel to the United States and its two co-host nations will be held on January 13, 2026.

According to data released by FIFA regarding ticket sales, prices for nearly 40 group stage matches will begin at an accessible $60. For those looking to experience the grandeur of the opening match hosted in the United States, specifically at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, ticket prices range from $560 to $2,735, reflecting the premium nature of this historic event.

The initial phase of ticket sales, which ran between August and October, previously saw over 1.6 million tickets snapped up by fans eager to attend the 2026 World Cup. The tournament itself will span from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across North America. This edition of the FIFA World Cup will also make history as the first to feature an expanded format with 48 competing teams, marking a significant evolution for the global football spectacle.
