Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, are officially engaged. The couple, who first began dating in 2016, announced their engagement on August 11, 2025, after nine years together.
Rodriguez confirmed the news via an Instagram post on August 11, which featured a large, sparkling diamond ring. The 31-year-old Argentinian-Spanish model shared her acceptance, writing in English, “Yes, I agree to this request and the rest of my life.” Her post quickly went viral, drawing an outpouring of congratulations from fans across social media.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the impressive diamond ring Ronaldo presented to Rodriguez is estimated by jewelry experts to be worth over $1 million and weighs between 10 to 15 carats.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez first met in a Gucci luxury store in Madrid, Spain, where she was working as a sales associate. Their relationship has grown strong over the past nine years.
Together, the couple shares four children: twins Eva and Mateo, born via surrogate in 2017; daughter Alana Martina, also born in 2017; and Bella Esmeralda, born in 2022. Tragically, Bella’s twin brother passed away at birth. Ronaldo also has an elder son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., born in 2010, from before his relationship with Rodriguez.
