Neymar in Tears as Santos Suffers Humiliating 6-0 Defeat

Neymar Jr. was seen leaving the field in tears after Santos FC suffered a crushing 6-0 defeat against Vasco Da Gama in Brazil’s Serie A. This loss marks one of the most embarrassing failures in his career and for the club. It was the first time Santos FC, an eight-time Brazilian champion, had conceded six goals in a Serie A match. The club currently sits in a difficult position in the league standings.

Following the devastating loss, head coach Cleber Xavier was fired just hours after the game. Midfielder Philippe Coutinho, formerly of Liverpool and Aston Villa, was instrumental for Vasco, scoring two goals. This emphatic victory was Vasco Da Gama’s first in six matches and their largest win in 17 years.

The game left Neymar Jr. deeply disappointed, sparking protests from fans demanding solutions for the struggling club. “I have never seen this before in my life. This unfortunately I can’t help anything,” Neymar told journalists after the game. “I think everyone today should go home and sleep thinking about what happened today, and what they want to do next.”

The 33-year-old, who made history with a €222 million transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, recently returned to Santos FC after terminating his contract with Al Hilal due to frequent injuries. Since rejoining mid-season, Neymar has made 12 appearances, registering six assists.
