Manchester United midfielder Casemiro expresses strong confidence in the team’s direction, particularly following their recent match against Arsenal in the Premier League. Casemiro, a regular starter for United under manager Ruben Amorim, has been in good form, excelling in his defensive midfield role and contributing to numerous positive plays.
While Manchester United faced difficulties in the league opener last season and also suffered a loss last week, their performance against Arsenal demonstrated positive form and a high level of competition from the Red Devils. Arsenal scored in the 13th minute due to an error from goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, with Gabriel involved in the play.
Statistics from the match showed United registered 22 shots compared to Arsenal’s nine, with seven shots on target. However, goalkeeper David Raya made crucial saves, and several United shots hit the post. Manchester United also dominated possession with 61% compared to Arsenal’s 39%, indicating their control of the game despite the result.
Casemiro acknowledges manager Amorim’s vision, believing it can guide the team to improvement after a challenging previous season. The former Real Madrid midfielder reiterates the high expectations placed on the club, expressing hope for a return to its former glory.
“Manchester United always aims for a winning approach. I don’t want to say that defeat is acceptable, because we have to win; Manchester United always wins. I believe we performed well in that game, we played very good, but we also need victory. Now we’re on the right path,” the 33-year-old midfielder stated.
Casemiro joined United in 2022 for £70 million ($94 million) and has since made approximately 126 appearances across all competitions.
