Tickets for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will range from $60 for group stage matches, potentially rising to $6,730 for the final. Prices are subject to fluctuation based on real-time demand. FIFA plans to release 1 million tickets during the first sales window, scheduled from September 10-19. This initial offering is exclusively for fans holding valid travel visas to the three host nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
FIFA announced that ticket prices will progressively increase through each stage of the tournament. The organization likens its pricing strategy for the 2026 World Cup to that of airline tickets or hotel rooms, where demand-driven pricing leads to higher costs during peak periods. A FIFA representative stated that market demand would significantly influence ticket prices, calling it a highly dynamic sports ticket sale.
Previous World Cups have seen similar pricing models. In 1994, when the US hosted, tickets ranged from $25 to $475. The 2022 World Cup in Qatar saw prices climb from $69 to $1,607. More recently, during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, FIFA implemented a similar market-based approach. Initially, high prices were set, but they were reduced when stadiums were not full. For instance, a semifinal match between Chelsea and Fluminense at MetLife Stadium saw ticket prices drop from $473.30 to $13.40.
The World Cup 2026 tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This edition will feature an expanded format, increasing the total number of matches from 64 to 104 and accommodating 48 teams for the first time in the tournament’s history.
