Neymar in Tears After Santos’ Humiliating 6-0 Defeat

Neymar Jr. was seen leaving the field in tears after Santos FC suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat against Vasco Da Gama in Brazil’s top league. The loss is being called the “most embarrassing failure” of his career.

This marked the first time Santos FC, eight-time champions, had conceded six goals in a single Serie A match against these clubs. Despite Neymar being part of the squad, Santos is currently struggling near the bottom of the league, with only two points separating them from the relegation zone.

In the wake of the devastating loss, coach Cleber Xavier was immediately fired from the club. Vasco Da Gama’s midfielder Philippe Coutinho, previously with Liverpool and Aston Villa, scored two goals, helping his team secure their first victory in six matches and their largest win in 17 years.

Neymar Jr. expressed strong disappointment for the entire team, and fans also protested for solutions at the club. “I have never seen this before in my life. Unfortunately, I can’t help anything,” Neymar told journalists after the game. “I think everyone today should go home and sleep, thinking about what happened today, and what they want to do next.”

The 33-year-old, known for his record €222 million transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, recently returned to Santos FC. He rejoined after terminating his contract with Al Hilal due to frequent injuries. Playing for Santos FC over the mid-season, Neymar has made 12 appearances and contributed to six goals.
