Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr., who has recently experienced a significant dip in his performance for both Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team, is seeing a sharp decline in his market value. According to an update from Transfermarkt on October 7, 2026, his valuation has fallen substantially from €200 million ($223 million) to €130 million ($145 million). In stark contrast, young sensation Lamine Yamal continues to maintain an impressive market value of over €220 million ($245 million).
The trajectory of Vinicius Jr.’s market worth illustrates a notable change. His value peaked at €200 million ($223 million) in 2024. Entering 2025, his valuation began to decrease incrementally, first dropping to €170 million ($190 million) and now standing at its current figure of €130 million ($145 million). Following this latest update, Vinicius Jr. has dropped to the tenth position on the list of the world’s most valuable players for 2026.
This significant depreciation in value is largely attributed to the Brazilian forward’s struggles with form at the start of the 2026-27 season. His recent club and international performances have been below expectations. Real Madrid’s statistics reveal that Vinicius Jr. has managed only one goal and three assists in his last eight appearances. Furthermore, frequent changes in Real Madrid’s coaching staff, from Carlo Ancelotti to Xabi Alonso, and currently to Jose Mourinho, are believed to have made it challenging for the player to adapt consistently to new tactical systems.
While Vinicius Jr.’s value has decreased, some of his teammates at Real Madrid have seen an upward trend. Yan Diomande, for instance, has seen his market value rise to €120 million ($135 million), and Arda Guler’s valuation has also climbed, reaching €100 million ($111 million) for the first time.
Lamine Yamal, a player for Barcelona, stands out with his sustained high valuation. He continues to command a market price exceeding €220 million ($245 million). This robust valuation, as per Transfermarkt’s assessment, factors in significant projected achievements, such as a hypothetical victory for Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Transfermarkt’s data also provides a broader perspective on the most valuable players in Spain’s top division. Among the top 10 most valuable players in La Liga, Real Madrid accounts for five. This influential group includes Vinicius Jr., alongside Kylian Mbappé, valued at €200 million ($223 million); Jude Bellingham, at €160 million ($179 million); Yan Diomande, whose value rose to €120 million ($135 million); and Arda Guler, who reached €100 million ($111 million) for the first time. Lamine Yamal maintains his position as the single most valuable player in La Liga, reaffirming his status as a key asset for Barcelona.
